Delonghi BG24 Perfecto Indoor Grill Specifications

When the weather is too cold to stand outside over the gas grill, fire up the Perfecto indoor grill instead. This electric grill has an embedded heating element and a special M-shaped grill design so the entire surface area heats up and grilling results are more consistent. Its adjustable, detachable thermostat has five temperature levels and can be adjusted low for grilling corn or other vegetables and higher for steaks or shrimp. The grill surface itself is nonstick, so less oil is required for cooking and swordfish steaks flip nicely without sticking. A nonstick splatter shield surrounds the edge of the grill to prevent walls and countertops from getting greasy and a drip tray below the grill’s surface catches any juices. Both the cooking surface and tray remove easily for painless cleanup. For the most tender and juicy meats, the tempered glass lid fits over the grill to retain moisture while still allowing the chef to check on meat’s progress. For safety, the Perfecto has cool-touch handles to prevent fingers from burns and an indicator light to show when the grill is heating up. The glass lid is dishwasher-safe but the grill surface and drip pan must be washed by hand. Delonghi covers the Perfecto under a one-year limited warranty. I–Cristina Vaamonde/I

Delonghi BG24 Perfecto Indoor Grill CustomerReview

I’ll comment later on durability but we REALLY enjoyed the chicken my wonderful wife cooked for us last night on this grille. br /br /No mess. Chicken was tender and properly seared on the outside. Nice grill marks on the chicken, not that this matters much. br /br /Cooking time was a reasonable ~20 minutes (plenty of time for other ingredients to cook). Finished chicken was done right and still juicy. Seems the George grilles that friends have used for meals they made for us might dry out the meats cooked on them. Or maybe that is how friends like to cook their meat. I don’t know. The George grilles also seem expensive for their sizes. For me to buy a George grille this size would have been very expensive. Also haven’t been able decipher the George grille model list yet. Seems to be two dozen different George grilles with only slight differences between them.br /br /We like to grill outside with our gas grille when the bugs aren’t eating us for dinner or when it isn’t raining or when snow isn’t blowing. On these occasions or when we want the minimum fuss – we’ll use this electric grill. br /br /Read the instructions. The last few pages are the most important. Don’t submerse the grille heating element or the thermostat in water. That means the dishwasher is out. You can use the dish washer for the lid and base and drip pan. Preheat the grill for 10 minutes. There is a warmup light I think my wife said. Heat until the light goes off. Those last pages of the manual tell you which temps/times to use for what kind of foods. br /br /Lastly foods that don’t lay flat are not going to cook well such as drumsticks. They need to contact the grill surface to cook. Fillets, steaks and hamburgers ought to do well. I’m going to try grilling veggies soon. br /br /Looks very similar to the Hamilton-Beach and Sanyo grilles. Oh and – “Made in China” unfortunately. Where have all the “Made in the USA” or at least in Italy products gone?

I purchased this indoor grill about a week ago and it came so quickly. I used my grill the very next day and cooked a rib-eye steak. It came out great! The next day I used it to grill Lime-cilantro srimp skewers and they came out perfect. I used it again for breakfast. I can’t wait to use it again. I don’t think I will ever grill outside again.

Hamilton Beach 25331 Super Sear 100-Square-Inch Nonstick Indoor Searing Grill Overviews

The spacious 100 square-inch grilling surface of the Hamilton Beach® searing grill heats up to 500°F, instantly searing steak to seal in its flavorful juices, then grilling it to perfection. Most grills can’t sear steak properly, since they typically only reach 400 F. The searing heat and surface pattern imprints the steak with grill marks for that “steakhouse” look. The grill is also perfect for grilling other meats, vegetables and fish. The Hamilton Beach® searing grill makes quick meals and is easy to clean. The grill-surfaces are coated with an easy-to-clean nonstick surface, and the grill is equipped with a dishwasher-safe drip tray. The Hamilton Beach® searing grill has a digital display and adjustable temperature controls. Its floating hinge can accommodate foods of any thickness, so foods won’t crush.

Hamilton Beach 25331 Super Sear 100-Square-Inch Nonstick Indoor Searing Grill CustomerReview

This is a great grill and a must-have for those who like to grill their meat. I used to be very hesitant to cook chicken breasts because when I pan-fried or baked them they would never taste very juicy or flavorful. Now with the Hamilton Beach Super Sear I can make pounds of juicy flavorful chicken breasts super easy! The searing function is great for fish, steak and chicken/turkey. It captures the juciness and is incredible easy to handle; no constant turning or fears of uneven cooking, just get a nice meat thermometer too! My only complaint about the device is the cleanup. Unfortunately without the removable plates it can be a pain to wipe all the crude off, which then gets onto the countertop. But the non-stick surface is mostly nonstick so it isn’t a nightmare just a sad reality. I’m extremely satisfied with this grill just wish it wasn’t a hassle to clean off.

Sanyo HPS-SG3 200-Square-Inch Electric Indoor Barbeque Grill, Black CustomerReview

I recently got a Sanyo HPS-SG3 200-Square-Inch Electric Indoor Grill as a wedding gift from my cousin recently. I used to use a propane Weber Baby-Q, but can no longer since moving into my condo. I liked the idea of being able to grill inside during bad weather, so I asked for this grill.br /br /Let’s start with a small disclaimer. This isn’t a “real” grill. There is no heat source below the grate as there would be with charcoal or gas. Instead, there is a 1300 watt (found to be about 1372 watts in my test) heating element welded directly below. This results in the heating of the food to be from direct contact with the metal grates, rather than radiant heat from the flame.br /br /The non-stick metal grate sits in a plastic frame, which stands evenly on my four burners of my stove. Under the grate is an aluminum tray, which catches drippings (you should put a cup of water into the tray prior to cooking. This prevents the drippings from baking onto the tray and makes it easier to clean). The power cord (which contains the thermostat) plugs into the grate directly.br /br /The dial thermostat has four temperatures printed – 200, 250, 300, 425. While the dial allows you to set it to any spot between the settings, the 125 degree jump at the end makes it a bit difficult to select temps between 300-425. There is an orange triangle pointing to the setting you’ve selected, when it is lit the grill is on (and drawing power) and when the temperature is reached, the light goes out (and the unit no longer draws power until it falls below that setting). I found that the surface of the grill got significantly hotter than the temperature selected (386 degrees vs the selected 250) during preheating.br /br /I put two pork chops and four pieces of chicken (two breasts sliced in half) on at the same time. The pork chops had a brown sugar and paprika rub, while the chicken was plain (I added salt and pepper during grilling). This grill doesn’t have a lid, and instead at times when I would like to trap heat in, I use a stainless steel frying pan placed upside down. Since the pork chops were a bit thick, I chose to do that here.br /br /Cooking these six pieces of meat ran into some difficulty. The pork shops, with the sugary rub, began to burn, while the chicken breasts cooked much more slowly. I think part of this was due to crowding half the grill with the four slice of chicken, while the other half only had two pork chops, causing the side with chicken to drop in temperature quickly. The grill, sensing the drop in temp, kept the heating element on, which heats the whole grill, causing the pork chops to get too hot. After realizing this, I switched the cover to the chicken, which helped keep the temp up on that side. I also added a glaze to the pork chops at this point, since they were almost done.br /br /With regards to the “smokeless” aspect of this grill, well, its not. It didn’t put off a ton of smoke, but the pork chops especially (with the sugary rub and glaze) produced some smoke. I put the grill over my stove top so I can use the hood (which vents outdoors). Additionally, the underside of the metal grate is NOT non-stick, and drippings bake onto that and don’t come off during cleaning. The next time the grill is used, they burn off, producing smoke.br /br /After cooking, the grill cools down quickly, and the grate is easy to clean (the top at least). It’s a bit bigger than my sink, and I’m worried I’m going to break the handle if I’m not careful, but food cleans right off with a soapy sponge. The drip tray is easy to clean (and is dishwasher safe as well, although it’s so easy to clean I can’t see wasting dishwasher space for it).br /br /While this grill does have some flaws (not smokeless, variance in temperature settings, difficulty cleaning), it’s still a pretty decent grill and I expect to use it on a regular basis. (I wouldn’t recommend getting the smaller HPS-SG2 since it has a weaker 850 watt heating element).br /br /In total, it used 0.42 kWh of electricity, which is about 7 cents at the current prices (in the Northeast, less for the rest of the country).br /br /Pork chop recipe from: [...]br /br /UPDATE:br /br /I used this grill to make shish-kabobs today. Didn’t work as well as a traditional grill, due to lack of cover. The kabobs didn’t have as much surface contact with the grill, so they didn’t absorb the heat. I took an old cookie sheet and put it upside down on top of the kabobs, which helped. It looks like the best foods are flat items of an even thickness (burgers, chops, breasts), rather than things like kabobs or chicken wings.

I’ve been wanting an indoor grill for years, but didn’t want to spend the money on a new stove with an embedded grill since my stove works fine. I took a chance on this Sanyo Grill and am SO GLAD that I did.br /br /I use it right on my existing stove, so if there is any smoke, (which has been so minimal), I can just turn on my stove fan and it takes care of the smoke, which again is MINIMAL. br /br /I’ve cooked filet mignon, boneless pork chops, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages and even veggies and it’s awesome. The cooking time has been totally acceptable and I feel that I’m able to monitor the cooking time better than running outside to the gas grill we have on our deck.br /br /I would HIGHLY recommend this grill and for the price, you can’t beat it. Clean up is a breeze and my sister just ordered one of her own and she is a gourmet cook!br /br /BUY THIS GRILL!
