I wanted to lose weight in a painless way. I ordered the grill so I could reduce the amount of fat consumed. I dip chicken in Lawry’s marinades to add flavor/seasoning and then place in the grill. I place two wet paper towels between the grill plates after removing chicken, close the grill, and let it soak until cool enough to touch and clean up is not a problem at all. Remember to use the drip pans–or you have a mess on the counter.

I like the George Foreman grills. I especially like the fact that the grill plates come off for each cleaning on this unit. It DOES have a couple of drawbacks that one should be aware of. 1) When you a grilling something greasy such as hamburgers, the top grill drips grease behind the unit when the lid is lifted fully. It lands on the electric coil in the back of the unit. 2) I have learned to totally remove the grill plates to clean front and back because somehow grease can get on the underside of the grill plate. When one turns it on for the second or third grilling and it smokes, you will know that it’s because grease has hit the heating unit. Even with these two drawbacks, I still like it. I would probably buy the larger unit next time but this size does two burgers with room to spare and is fantastic for bacon.

I have had the grill for about a week and have used it three times for full meals, including seafood, meats, vegetables and potatoes. It’s everything I hoped, except for one flaw — no steam vents so my grilled marble-sized red potatoes weren’t as crispy outside as i like them….i may find a machine shop and have a few holes drilled….or i guess just cook without the lid on but that seems inefficient.br /br /anyway i love it. easy to clean, looks nice, tucks away, great cord with enough length (RARE in appliances)…and does a superb job if you can’t have a real grill outside.br /br /highly recommended, and i am picky about my grilling.

Working great so far. This is the base model and has no temperature setting or on/off switch. Plug it in to turn it on. Goes to a set temperature. Has a light that turns off when its at the desired temperature.br /br /I have grilled steak, chicken breast, fish and made panini sandwiches. All came out pretty good. I keep mine very clean. One thing I do is as soon as I’m done grilling I take a paper towel, wet it thoroughly, unplug the grill, lay the paper tower on the grill and close it. This way the steam keeps the food soft and loose and its easy to clean up after we are done eating.br /br /Since this grill has no temperature setting make sure the marinades/sauces etc you use for grilling are not going to burn at the temperature this grill runs at.br /br /The scraping spatula that comes with this grill is pretty cheap quality. If you use it while grill is hot it starts to melt.br /br /This grill get pretty hot all over so be careful to not touch any surfaces when hot. I am pretty sure the plastic will get brittle with time but that is to be expected.

Grilling really can’t get much easier than this. After assembling the grill (which takes only a few minutes), simply plug it in and allow about 10 minutes to fully preheat the surface while you gather your steaks, kebabs, or whatever’s to be grilled. The electric heat has an adjustable range from low (for keeping food warm) to high (for searing steaks). The nonstick grill surface not only means you can use a minimum of added fat, but it also makes cleanup a cinch. The surface has a subtle slope, with channels that draw accumulated fat or other liquids into a tray just below the surface. The high domed and vented lid helps create a circular flow of hot air to ensure even cooking–particularly important for a large roast or whole chicken.p The grill can be placed either directly on a tabletop or atop its pedestal. On its own, the grill surface stands about 6 inches high; with the pedestal, it stands about 2-1/2 feet high, not counting the domed lid. The pedestal is plenty sturdy for cooking, but the grill still seems a bit top-heavy, so pay special attention if grilling in a high-traffic area or near kids. Because of the easy electric heat, this grill can be used outdoors or indoors–when using it indoors, though, be prepared for potential spattering, steam, or other side effects of cooking. I always take the publics opinion very seriously – this is how I learn what any product is REALLY like. This George Forman Grill is truely the best electric grill I have ever used. I lived in a condo for years and we were not allowed to have gas grills, so thats when it all began. Since then, I have moved into a big house, with a full acre yard…. I have all the room in the world for a gas grill now. However, I am SO pleased with the convenience of this electric grill, I will continue to use it! It is perfect. If I was forced to find a fault, I would say make the electric cord longer….but this is only because I’d like to take it out into the yard. I use an extenion cord for this. Otherwise, it is long enough to be safelt away from the house. You CANNOT go wrong in purchasing this grill. Oil tray is small and simple to clean. Cooks steaks to perfection – just heat the grill to max first before you throw the steaks on! Julianna, New Jersey PS… I ordered the grill on Amazon at 4pm on Tuesday, and the package was sitting on my porch by 9:30am the next day. I only payed for the cheapest, longer-wait delivery! Amazon is awesome too!

This G5 grill is fantastic!! I purchased this one for my sister who lives in NJ because she claims she can’t cook a steak the way she likes it. I assured her she will love this grill. I am an outdoors steak barbequer and this is the only thing that comes close. I actually purchased the new round grill recently, but I think this one is better. The new round grill does not fit under the cabinet when open and makes it hard to remove the plates and hold the top open at the same time. This grill is no problem.
