I owned the small, single serving size Foreman Champ grill for many years. I used it very frequently, but after a few years the teflon coating started coming off and it was even more difficult to clean, if that is possible. I bought this as a replacement. It is much larger, big enough to cook for two, and the removable grill plates make cleaning it very easy. I have a tiny kitchen with little counter space so the bigger size worried me, but you can clip it closed and stand it on end so that it takes about the same counter space as the champ. The longer grill surface meanss I no longer have to cut bacon strips in half to cook them. For even easier cleanup I fold a 4″ strip of paper towel lenghwise twice and place it in the drip tray before cooking. It absorbs the grease and makes it easy to dump it into the trash with no mess. I agree with earlier reviews that you must completely pre-heat the unit before grilling for good results. My grandchildren love to use it to make grilled cheese sandwiches, 2 minutes with no turning and they turn out perfect. I wish that I had known about this model before I gave my oldest granddaughter a champ to take to college.
