From the built-in lighting system to the hinged door and Auto-Roll window design to Coleman’s WeatherTec system guaranteed to keep out wind and rain, the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 6 Tent is packed with features for comfort and convenience at the campsite. The tent sleeps 6 people comfortably, with a footprint of 17′x9′ and a center height of 6′4″. The hinged door swings open and closed; it includes a rigid pole frame support structure that is easy to install and take down. An overlapping door flap helps keep out insects when closed. The integrated lighting system, featuring a replaceable 15-watt spiral fluorescent tube powered by an 6 D-cell battery pack, provides a bright, useful light — enough to read by at night. It can be turned on and off with a push-button remote control from up to 50 feet away, or by using the backlit switches on the light fixture and the battery pack. Two settings provide brightness options, with more than 16 hours of run time on Low and 12-14 hours on High. Coleman’s Comfort System allows control of airflow with vented Cool-Air Port/Cooler Port, privacy vent window, interior gear pocket and electrical access port. Color-coded 19mm steel poles, continuous pole sleeves plus InstaClip attachments and an exclusive pin-and-ring design assure quick and easy setup even for beginners. Coleman’s new Auto-Roll Window lets you instantly roll windows up, partially up to your liking, or all the way down, to suit your privacy or ventilation preference.

Coleman Elite WeatherMaster 6 Tent Specifications

From the built-in lighting system to the hinged door and Auto-Roll window, the Coleman Elite WeatherMaster 6 screened tent is packed with features for comfort and convenience at the campsite. Hailing from Coleman’s Elite line–which is designed to offer the ultimate luxury family camping experience–The WeatherMaster 6 sleeps six people comfortably, with an extra-large footprint of 17 by 9 feet and a center height of 6 feet 4 inches. The WeatherMaster 6 is outfitted with Coleman’s exclusive WeatherTec system, a series of technical features intended to protect you from inclement weather and nasty storms.p WeatherTec tents are built with a coated polyester fabric combined with anti-wicking thread, webbing, and zippers, all designed to keep you dry when the rain comes down. The tent’s welded waterproof floor and inverted floor seams, meanwhile, dramatically increase the water resistance by hiding the needle holes inside the tent and away from the elements. And in addition to offering fully taped rainfly seams, the included rainfly covers the doors and windows tightly and incorporates easy-to-use Velcro frame attachments. Add in a strong, wind-responsive frame–which uses redesigned poles and guy-out triangles to anchor the tent–and you have a shelter that performs like a brick house during a storm. In fact, Coleman is so confident in its WeatherTec system that it exposes its WeatherTec tents to a rain room that simulates nasty downpours, and to a wind machine capable of blowing hurricane force gusts. The results? Even after the tests, Coleman guarantees its WeatherTec tents will keep you dry. ptable align=left width=300 cellpadding=10trtdimg src=”http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/stores/sport-goods/B001RPIOMI-1.jpg” border=0 align=topbrbrsmallibThe WeatherMaster 6 is designed to offer the ultimate luxury camping experience./b/i/small/td/tr/table The WeatherMaster 6 is extremely spacious compared to most other tents, giving you plenty of room to wander around or pack family members inside. The three rooms can function as individual bedrooms, living spaces, or gear-storage units, with a special screened room that’s ideal for sleeping under the stars or relaxing in the daytime during a mosquito-heavy sunset. Campers will also love the hinged door, which includes a rigid doorframe that’s easy to install and take down (the overlapping door flap also helps keep insects out when closed). Perhaps the tent’s coolest feature, however, is the integrated lighting system, which features a replaceable 15-watt spiral fluorescent tube powered by a D-cell battery pack (eight D-cells required). No more relying on a clumsy lantern for nighttime reading, or fumbling for a flashlight when you need to make a trip outside. The light isn’t blinding, but it’s plenty bright enough to read by at night. Plus, you can turn the light on and off using a pushbutton remote control from up to 50 feet away, or by using the backlit switches on the light fixture and the battery pack. The light offers two brightness settings and runs for 22 hours on the low setting and 12 to 14 hours on the high. p The WeatherMaster 6 is even built to keep you cool during the summertime, with Coleman’s Comfort System letting you control the airflow in conjunction with the vented Cooler Port. Other features include an easy-to-set-up design with color-coded steel poles, continuous pole sleeves, InstaClip attachments, and an exclusive pin-and-ring design; self-rolling windows that let you instantly or partially roll the windows up or down to your liking; an interior gear pocket; an electrical access port; and easy-to-follow instructions sewn into the durable carrying bag, which comes with extra storage bags for the poles and stakes. ptable align=right width=300 cellpadding=10trtdimg src=”http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/stores/sport-goods/B001RPIOMI-1.jpg” border=0 align=topbrbrsmallibThe tent’s long-lasting lighting system offers 2 brightness settings./b/i/small/td/tr/tablebSpecifications:/bulliCenter height: 76 inches liFlysheet: Polyester taffeta 75 denier with 450mm polyurethane coating liTent material: 75-denier polyester with 450mm coating on inner tent liMesh: 68-denier polyester lIFloor: 1,000-denier floor, 140 g/m2 liBase dimensions: 17 by 9 feet liPoles: 9.5mm and 11mm fiberglass and 19mm steel liCountry of origin: Made in China liWarranty: Limited 1 year /ulpbAbout Coleman/bbr More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a “no light, no pay” clause–a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked–and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. p In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company’s current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won’t deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.p

Coleman Elite WeatherMaster 6 Tent CustomerReview

This tent held up great under both heavy rain and wind storms. We purchased this tent to use at dog shows. We travel with two small dogs and sleep on a queen air mattress. We setup in farmer fields and not usually at campgrounds. The tent did leak a little the first time we used it and since that time I have sealed the seams with no other leaks. Our first two outings were in terrible rain storms with strong winds. The tent was great. However on our last outing in October, it was cold at night once the temperature gets lower the cold wind blows in the top of the tent under the rain-fly–that would be great in hot weather but not on cold nights. The setup is easy and along with another reviewer–I don’t extend the poles after I set it up. (To difficult) The rain-fly does really require two people on a windy day to put on.br /br /The screen porch is very nice to put things in like coolers, drying racks and dog crates. Overall we are very happy with this tent and would recommend it.

Coleman WeatherMaster Screened 4 Tent CustomerReview

GET A FEW CANS OF CAMP DRY. This tent leaked fairly bad the first time we used it at Woolly Hollow state park in Arkansas. I think the rain fly diverts water directly onto the back side windows and on the seam where the door hinges and ours leaked pretty bad at the point where the mesh meets the bottom part of the window. Those nights it rained a good bit and we “fixed” the leak by detaching the rain fly on the back poles and tying it to the guy lines then to a tree, so the water would run off the very back of the tent more, instead of dripping right at key seams, this seemed to fix the problem. We have since put 3 coatings of camp dry and used a couple of tubes of coleman seam sealer and this should be a great tent from now own. (guaranteed not to leak……after 3 coatings of camp dry) should be there slogan.br /br /On a positive note, I haven’t had a tent from Coleman that hasn’t leaked yet, but learn from me, always seal them with camp dry or similar product and seam sealer BEFORE you need to, and you will have a great experience and have a tent that will last for years to come.

Coleman WeatherMaster 8 Tent CustomerReview

I purchased this tent for a scouting camping trip for a family of four (in Florida in early spring) after reading the previous reviews on this tent as well as some additional research which recommended taking the number of people that it says it holds and divide by 2 which will give you the actual number of people it will sleep comfortably with some gear. I recommend that everyone follow this formula as it held true. Now for the actual tent review:br /br /The goodbr /- Setup was easy and very quick, especially when a second person was helping which was necessary on this trip as it started to rain partway through setup (I recommend doing a test run prior to your first trip as it gets you familiar with the setup process and if you are forced to set it up under an unusual circumstance such as rain or night, you know what you are doing and don’t need to stop and read each step)br /- The tent was a good size inside enabling us to hold a queen airmattress and two twin airmattresses for the kids as well as four small suitcases. We were very comfortable sleeping with all this in the tentbr /- The one night we actually camped (had to break camp due to threat of thunderstorms) it rained continuously and we had 20-25 MPH winds blowing on the tent. It was solid with no leaks and never felt like the tent was going to blow over.br /br /The badbr /- The instructions lack one key element with setting up of the center poles that they should go throught the two loops located on either side of the tent. The practice run helped identify this missing item from the instructions.br /- Definitely need to have the side vents open and some type of circulation (we had the coleman fan which works well) in warmer weather as it traps heat very well which is good for colder weather but not warmer weather.br /- No egress overhang over the doors which I wish Coleman would add to this tent (although it would then make it too much like the Montana) but I knew this going in so I really can’t deduct for this but just want to point it out to everyone.br /br /I definitely recommend this tent, especially if you will be camping in cooler and potentially inclement weather.

Coleman WeatherMaster Screened 6 Tent CustomerReview

We decided to try tent camping this year over Memorial weekend and bought the Weathermaster 6 for our family of 4 (plus our full grown lab) and absolutely love the tent! It was recommended by some to perform a practice setup before using, which I would also recommend–having done so, I was able to set it up in 25 minutes when we arrived at the campground, the red color on the poles and pole seams were very intuitive for assembly. Very simple setup. The rigid swing door is pure design genius! Many other campers around us commented on the door, and for our busy young daughters having a door that closes right behind them is just perfect for the mosquito-filled woods of Minnesota. We had slight rain one night, and no water got in, this is a well-sewn unit. I bought a 10 foot strip of self-adhesive velcro for the bottom of the flap between the screen porch and the main sleeping area, but did not use it as there was no issues with wind permeating that area since the waterproof floor rises up higher than the flap hangs. We also bought 4 coleman cots and there was ample room for legs between the cots which were set up side by side, and about 18-24 inches of walkway between the door side of the tent and the foot of the cots. We recommend this tent to anyone!
