Coleman SunDome 9- by 7- Foot Four- Person Dome Tent (Orange/Grey) Specifications

Roomy enough for a comfortable camping adventure with friends and family, this Coleman Sundome tent sleeps up to four people at a time in complete comfort. The Sundome is outfitted with Coleman’s exclusive WeatherTec system, a series of technical features intended to protect you from inclement weather and nasty storms. WeatherTec tents are built with a coated polyester fabric combined with anti-wicking thread, webbing, and zippers, all designed to keep you dry when the rain comes down. The tent’s welded waterproof floor and inverted floor seams, meanwhile, dramatically increase the water resistance by hiding the needle holes inside the tent and away from the elements. And in addition to offering fully taped rainfly seams, the included rainfly covers the doors and windows tightly and incorporates easy-to-use Velcro frame attachments. In fact, Coleman is so confident in its WeatherTec system that it exposes its WeatherTec tents to a rain room that simulates nasty downpours, and to a wind machine capable of blowing hurricane force gusts. The results? Even after the tests, Coleman guarantees its WeatherTec tents will keep you dry. p The Sundome’s interior is generously sized, with a base that measures 9 feet by 7 feet and a center height of 59 inches. In addition, the tent is engineered to keep you cool thanks to the adjustable Variflo ventilation and vented Cool-Air port. Best of all for travel-weary campers, the Sundome sets up quickly, with two shock-corded steel poles, continuous pole sleeves, a pin-and-ring design, and InstaClip attachments. The tent even comes with easy-to-follow instructions sewn into the durable carrying bag. Other features include an interior gear pocket, electrical access port, and a privacy vent window.pbSpecifications:/bulliMeasures 9 by 7 feet li59-inch center height liDome structure is easy to transport and simple to set up liPolyester taffeta 75D flysheet liPolyester mesh 68D inner tent liFloor: Polyethylene 1000D-140g/sqm floor li450 mm PU coating on flysheet and inner tent liPrivacy vent window liTwo pole setup with shock-corded poles liInterior gear pocket liElectrical access port liContinuous pole sleeves liInstructions sewn to durable carry bag liPin and ring design and InstaClip attachments liLimited 1 year warranty /ulpbAbout Coleman/bbr More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a “no light, no pay” clause–a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked–and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. p In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company’s current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won’t deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

Coleman SunDome 9- by 7- Foot Four- Person Dome Tent (Orange/Grey) CustomerReview

This is my very first tent for my second camping trip ever. I bought this tent for a 2 night camping trip I am going on in a couple days with some friends, and I am a city girl to the core. I bought it for my boyfriend (6 foot 5 inches tall) and I (5 foot 5 inches) to sleep in. I initally was going to buy the 3 person one for the two of us, but thought with his hight and all the stuff I will end up bringing I should go with the 4 person for the two of us. I feel like it may be a little too big… but at least maybe then it will last for many camping trips, even after I get a dog.br /br /So, when it arrived today the first thing I wanted to do was set it up – so I did exactly that, and I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to do it all by myself in less then a half hour (having never set up a tent before). br /br /I loved how easy set up was, as someone else noted I love that the instructions are sewed into the bag. I also like that when I stuffed it back into the bag, I did it with very little difficulty. It also packs up pretty small. I also like the zip windows and the two pockets on the walls to hold things like my lip gloss and cell phone within reach. :) br /br /I think so far the only thing I don’t like is that the tent itself isn’t completely covered – you must put the rain cover on top to get your privacy, and at the same time anyone could really just stick there head up underneath it to look in… and since I am going with a bunch of friends, I would kind of like to have a bit more privacy for my boyfriend!

Swiss Gear Montreaux Ten Person Family Dome Tent (Sage/Light Grey/Orange) CustomerReview

Easy to set up and take down. Strong zippers. Lots of room. Half hour to set up, maybe less. We fit two queen air mattresses in the two back coves. They fit, but touched the walls. We camped for two weeks and it was very dry, so that wasn’t a problem. I did have to use a tent sealer, we had a tiny bit of water come in the back, directly across from the front door. We sealed it (and the rest of the tent) never had a problem again. It rained twice, but not hard. We had an extra tarp over most of the tent attached to trees. We put a twin size air mattress in the front on the right. It was a tight fit. The only problem is that people step on it as they come in and out of the tent. On the left would have been better, but that is where the outlet opening is located and we did not want to run the extension cord running across the front door. I think next year we will switch and try running the extension cord over to the right side. My husband is 6′2″ and he was very happy with the height of the tent. Don’t forget to buy a tarp for under the tent (all tents need a under tarp.) I know from stories told, that the zippers on the door is usually the first thing to give you trouble, so if you have kids or camp a lot you might want more then one door. This tent only has one door. We had NO trouble in the two weeks, but I can see now how much that zipper gets used. For 9 I don’t think you can get two doors on a tent this size, without compromising something else.

This tent is exactly what I was looking for. It sets up in less than 5 mins and is roomy as hell. I love being able to open up all the windows for a screen house effect. The tent also packs up pretty good too. The bag supplied is ample and extra straps are supplied. What I don’t like about the tent is for the size of the tent I was expecting more storage room to hold things, more pockets and compartments. It also lacks access holes to the outside. I used my tent in the rain and it held up without any leaks. One other dislike I have is the strength of the poles I feel the poles should be a tad bit thicker. I look forward to many years with this tent.

Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957–the birth of the modern cooler–and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.pstrongfont color=CC6600BIGAmazon.com Tent Guide/BIG/font/strongbrstrongfont color=CC6600Selecting a Tent/font/strongbr Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in-between. Here are a few things to keep in mind:pstrongfont color=CC6600Expect the Worst/font/strongbr In general, it’s wise to choose a tent that’s designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you’ll face. For instance, if you’re a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all purpose tent will likely do the trick–especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in! If you’re a backpacker, alpine climber or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you’ll want to take something designed to handle more adversity.pstrongfont color=CC6600Three- and Four-Season Tents/font/strongbr For summer, early fall and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature pre-sealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproofness.p For winter camping or alpine travel, go with a four season model. Because they typically feature more durable fabric coatings, as well as more poles, four-season tents are designed to handle heavy snowfall and high winds without collapsing. Of course, four-season tents exact a weight penalty of about 10 to 20 percent in trade for their strength and durability. They also tend to be more expensive.pstrongfont color=CC6600Domes and Tunnels/font/strongbr Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. Freestanding tents often incorporate a dome-shaped design, and most four-season tents are constructed this way because a dome leaves no flat spots on the outer surface where snow can collect. Domes are also inherently stronger than any other design. Meanwhile, many three-season models employ a modified dome configuration called a tunnel. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floor-plan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it by being more lightweight. Because they use fewer poles, they can also be quicker to set up than a dome.pstrongfont color=CC6600Size Matters/font/strongbr Ask yourself how many people you’d like to fit in your fabric hotel now and in the future. For soloists and minimalists, check out one-person tents. If you’re a mega-minimalist, or if you have your eye on doing some big wall climbs, a waterproof-breathable bivy sack is the ticket. Some bivy sacks feature poles and stake points to give you a little more breathing room. Also, if you don’t need bug protection and you want to save weight, check out open-air shelters.p Families who plan on car camping in good weather can choose from a wide range of jumbo-sized tents that will accommodate all your little ones with room to spare. A wide range of capacities is also available for three- and four-season backpacking and expedition tents. Remember, though, the bigger the tent you buy, the heavier it will be, although it’s easy to break up the tent components among several people in your group. It’s also helpful to compare the volume and floor-space measurements of models you’re considering.p

Coleman Sundome 7-feet by 5-feet 2 Person Tent CustomerReview

I spent four nights in Yosemite National Park in May and this tent held up just fine. The first night I was there it rained the entire night and no water got into the tent, so I was very happy. This tent is the first I have ever purchased and it only took me practicing how to build it twice at home before I could build it in under 10 minutes when I went to Yosemite. As a result, I was quite pleased because I didn’t want to go camping and look like the village idiot. If given the opportunity, I would buy this tent again.

They also tend to be more expensive.pstrongfont color=CC6600Domes, Tunnels and Sacks/font/strongbr Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright.

Sundome 3 Tent 7 x 7, 3 Person CustomerReview

This was a birthday gift for my 9 year old grandson. Well, the first one came with a hole in it but Amazon was great and sent me a free shipping label to send it back and shipped out a new one immediately. It came very quickly and in time for my grandson’s birthday. He absolutely loves it. It was easy to set up, they put a blow up mattress in it and it fit perfectly. He had friends over to sleep out in the backyard three nights in a row. They played games (by flashlight)told stories and had a blast. My daughter said it’s great for two adults but three would be a little tight, especially with the mattress but next year my son-in-law will take my grandson to the state park and it will be perfect for the two of them. It has been great fun and cost less than some electronic toy. Also better than those “kid” tents that are OK in the house but blow away outside.
