This product was a good price at Amazon and it works great for me. I buy these shoes for my power-walking. They help stabilize my foot and have good cushion for heavier athletes. I also use this shoe for jogging. I have purchased several pairs of these shoes and used the NB 991 and 992 before this shoe came out.

I bought these shoes for my husband based on other reviewers’ comments.br /All the positive things they said about them are true. These shoes arebr /well-constructed with lots of cushioning, yet they’re lightweight andbr /have just the right amount of flexibility. They also run true to size and, br /best of all, are MADE IN THE USA! The shoes are very nice looking and br /my husband said that these are the most comfortable athletic shoes that he’s br /worn in many years. He should know; he wears them for about 10 hours a day. br /I purchased them on Amazon through Road Runner Sports with free shipping, br /super-fast delivery, one of the lowest prices online, and a liberal br /return/exchange policy. Made in the USA, so I felt good buying them. I don’t yet know if they will last any longer than New Balance’s other, cheaper shoes that are not made in the USA. But the construction is clearly superior. The lining inside is sewn in and very comfortable. Cheaper shoes typically just have a bare interior with sharp edges in some places and a glued-in cardboard footbase. After a couple of weeks wearing them (walking, not running), I am very happy with these so far.

The New Balance 993 is one of the most comfortable shoes I have tried in several years of Running..I do all my running on the treadmill and only weigh 165 now..But it is murder on your legs if you have the wrong shoe…This shoe combines comfort and stability, plus it looks pretty good as a casual shoe just to wear out or if you are on your feet a lot…br /br /I am a serious runner and by that I mean I may be running 35 to 40 plus miles a week on the tread..These shoes are really a trainer..If doing my weekly routine of 5 plus miles a day I will use the 993s due to their shock absorbtion…br /br /But the reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is these are not a performance shoe…The big drawback here is weight…The shoes are heavier than most..So if you are looking at speed training or overall 5k, 10k best time this is not the shoe I wear..Would wear lighter more performance based shoe like the Asic GT 2030, 40, 50 line…But while training for that or daily running I use the 993s..Plus when you got to a lighter shoe for performance that is a plus..br /br /And the other reason I rate 4 stars is durability..These shoes will last me about 300 miles and they are done..Once leg pain, shin splints return I usually buy a new pair..So roughly 300 miles or so and the in soles are shot..Personally I like the black the best also..The grey doesn’t hold up very well cosmetic wise..br /br /So good training shoe, good comfort..If they were slightly lighter and less cumbersome and more durable I would rate a 5…And they get kinda toasty as well..They are not real breathable mesh…

I was diagnosed with Morton’s Neuroma which I attribute to wearing tight shoes. I have a wide foot so I always settle for a little extra length so my foot will fit. I never thought that a tight shoe can cause it. First thing I did was look up shoes for the condition and this shoe was suggested. I bought it at extra extra wide and my foot easily fit in. It is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn and didn’t require “breaking in”. I bought some New Balance insoles also and I can run without the pain of Morton’s Neuroma. I strongly recommend these shoes for anybody with the same condition. Worth every penny.

Out of all the shoes I have ever purchased to run in these are one of the best. I’m a big guy and since I have started running in theses shoes I no longer suffer with the sore and painful knee and ankle problems that I had with other brands. Just so you know I have read reviews from other Big runners who have not been happy with these shoes but there seem to be an even larger number who love them to death including me, in fact I’m so happy I just placed and order for 2 more pair because NB is phasing them out and they are being replaced with the 1012, which is almost the same but different Color(Blue).
